Fingerprint locks are mature and mid-priced, common on executive floors, family rooms and long-stay units; face recognition offers the best contactless experience and appears in premium lobbies and VIP floors, linked with elevator and access control for "face-pass-through".
Three realities before buying: recognition rate across ages, skin tones and makeup (ask for multi-population test data); privacy compliance (face data touches regulations like EU GDPR, requiring local storage and deletion); and cost/maintenance (higher module prices, sensors smudged by dust and oil).
Positioning: deploy biometrics as one combination method in premium projects, not a full-line standard. For mid-range hotels, card + PIN is sufficient.
